The Czech public television announced on November 19, their return in the Eurovision Song Contest. We Have to go back in 2009 to listen to the latest Czech song Aven Romale. They finished last in their semi-final with no points at all. Since then the Czech Republic have quite favorite competition for financial reasons.

The history of this country in the Eurovision is very short. They’ve debuted in 2007 with the rock band Kabát and the song Mala Dama. But they didn’t do as well as the Finnish Lordi (2006), Mala Dama ended last in its semi with a single point from Estonia.

In 2008 one could have imagine the Czech reaching the final. The song Have some fun had a great video and an modern staging. Unfortunately, Kerndlova Tereza didn’t shine in Belgrade and ended before last in her semi.

With Andorra, The Czech Republic is the only country that has never managed to reach the final – and the one with the worst track record since Andorra at least finished 11th in the very difficult semi-final of 2007…

Given the horrible results via national finals for those 3 years, they decided for 2015 to select the song internaly, selecting it out of five songs presented by renowned composers.

What can we expect from this country ? You have to be optimistic. Having watched selections of the past years, the Czech Republic can still surprise us. As a proof, here are 4 jewelry of 2007 and 2008 national finals…
